Children from birth to 17 years of are treated in KAÇUV’s 18-bed facility at the Cerrahpaşa Medical School Pediatric Clinic Hematology/Oncology Service.
We support the patients not only in medical terms but also in their physical conditions and social requirements.
We conduct various activities together with our volunteers in order to increase the children’s and parents’ quality of life in psycho-social terms during their treatment process.
The Game Room at İstanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical School Hospital’s Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Service by the Foundation, enables children who are receiving cancer treatment to pass their time with materials supporting their development and, by doing so, distance themselves from the stress caused by their disease.
We prepare written materials on the disease and its various stages for the children and their parents, and we translate and adapt foreign publications into Turkish and publish them as open resources.
We initiated a project titled “Education of the Children Who Are Long-Term Hospital Patients and Hospital Schools” with the collaboration of Ministry of National Education, Ministry of Labor and Social Security, and Ministry of Health and we contributed to the education of children through establishment of a class in the Hematology/Oncology Service of I.U. Cerrahpaşa Medical School Hospital.
Cultural, scientific and artistic activities which are conducted with children will continue to grow and produce together with children in İstanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical School Hospital, İstanbul University Medical School Hospital, Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital, Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital, Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Training and Research Hospital, Bezmialem Foundation University Hospital, Göztepe Training and Research Hospital, and Marmara University Pendik Training and Research Hospital.
