Istanbul Development Agency Grants
“Game is My Medicine” and “Child Explorers in the Virtual World” projects have been implemented thanks to the funding from 2012 Financial Support Program of Small-Scale Infrastructure for Social Inclusion and 2014 Financial Support Programs for Children and Youth.
Game is My Medicine Project aims to help children who are receiving cancer treatment in Istanbul in their emotional and social development, to enhance their skills of self-expression and emotional expression, to meet their social needs and to support their adaptation to treatment process. We created an educational program including art, science and creative activities. And we implement it in Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Departments with the help of our trained volunteers. Conducted for 16 months, the project was completed with 500 children who had ongoing treatments at KAÇUV Family Home as well as Istanbul University Medical School, Istanbul Medeniyet University Göztepe Training and Research Hospital, and Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Departments with the support of 140 KAÇUV volunteers. Since 2014, the project has been funded by the resources of KAÇUV.
