About KAÇUV
Our History and Goals
The Hope Foundation for Children with Cancer (KAÇUV) was established in 2000 by the doctors and the families of the children who receive treatment. KAÇUV provides services with the Family Houses where children and their families can stay free of charge during the children’s treatment processes. The foundation carries out various activities and projects that will increase the children’s quality of life in terms of psychological, social, physical and medical aspects in the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Services of the hospitals and Family Houses. The activities that were initiated in the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Service of the Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty are still carried out in 15 services of 12 hospitals in İstanbul, Bursa, İzmir and Zonguldak.
Our Vision
Our vision is forming a health capacity that is designed to answer the demands and necessities of childhood cancer, that offers physical and medical conditions to which all children can have access and provides psychological and social needs brought about by the treatment processes.
Our Mission
• Providing the needs that will increase the physical and medical quality of life for the children, their families and their close ones,
• Carrying out psychological and social activities that supports the treatment processes of children,
• Protecting the children’s right to education during the treatment processes.
• Parental awareness through trainings,
• Ensuring the family unity and the continuity of treatment through Family Houses supports,
• Ensuring the motivation of healthcare providers which is an important factor in the treatment process,
• Carrying out awareness projects for healthy individuals and prevention projects for public health.
